Arithmeticz Guide

Arithmeticz is the kind of straight forward, no nonsense math game that fans of the genre absolutely love. There is nothing complicated or over the top about it. You have your equations, you have your math symbols and you have a timer. That's it. Your goal is to complete all twenty questions asked of you as quickly and accurately as you can. The better you perform in terms of speed and accuracy, the better your score will be at the end of the game. There are no flashy graphics and no complicated rules you have to follow. Just do the math. It's a quick game. It's a fun game and it's a ton of fun.

Arithmeticz offers two levels of difficulty, easy and hard, so fans of math games will be able to find a decent challenge regardless of their skill level. Those with weaker math skills are going to have a hard time with this one regardless of what difficulty level they choose but that's really what makes the game so much fun to play. While other online time challenge math games that offer this basic approach stick to easier questions making the biggest challenge getting a good time, this one doesn't really take it easy on you. That not only ups the difficulty level but it also helps you improve your math skills more quickly without making the game feel like a math lesson.

Another aspect of Arithmeticz that really sets it apart from most of the other math games online is the operations you'll be using. Many of the other games in the genre will focus on one or two operations while this one focuses on all of them equally. You'll be adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Your challenge isn't to complete the equations using numbers but is instead to complete the equations using the correct mathematical symbol. Although it doesn't seem like that one small adjustment would make a difference in how challenging the game is, it actually does; especially if you're used to playing math games that involve inputting numbers instead of symbols. Once you get the hang of it though, it's really not much different. It just takes a little longer to get used to.

The best way to do well and get a good score in Arithmeticz is to take your time. While doing the math quickly is important, rushing will hurt your accuracy far more than being a little slow when answering questions. Make sure you're sure you've read the equation right before you click on the symbol you want to answer with. Unlike many of the other time challenge math games online, there is no submit button. If you get the wrong answer, that answer will be marked with a red 'x' and you'll need to choose again which will hurt your time in the end anyway. It's best to just take an extra moment or two to think about the answer you're selecting before you choose it.

Apart from hurting your accuracy and time, each wrong answer in Arithmeticz is counted as a strike against you. If you get enough wrong answers, you won't be given the opportunity to answer all of the questions. Your game will end with a warning to "think before you click" and informing you "cheating is not allowed". The best way to avoid having your game end in this manner is to take the advice the game offers and think before you click. Don't get too caught up in the timer counting away in the upper left corner. Focus on the question. Look at the numbers and the answer. Some of the questions, even in easy mode, are pretty difficult but in most cases, finding the right answer is a matter of common sense. Even if you don't know the right answer just by looking at the question, you should be able to determine whether the solution is multiplication, division, addition or subtraction. Obviously if the answer is bigger than the numbers in the equation, you can rule out division and multiplication. From there, you can use basic logic skills to determine the operation that makes the most sense and is most likely to give you the desired outcome. It's not nearly as hard as it seems if you're willing to be patient.

Overall, Arithmeticz is a simple, quick and entertaining math game that offers a lot to anyone who chooses to tackle it. While it can be frustrating, if you attack the questions using logic and patience, you should be able to get a fairly decent score. While anyone with weaker math skills will undoubtedly struggle in the beginning, you will improve as you play. That doesn't just mean your getting a better score and doing better in the game. It also means you're building and strengthening your math skills. Let's be honest. It isn't easy to make math fun to someone who isn't all that good at math, but this game accomplishes that goal. This math game is probably going to be a bit too difficult for young children but teenagers will enjoy the competitive aspect of it and parents will enjoy playing just as much. If you're looking for a solid math game to educate and entertain, Arithmeticz is one of the best options out there.
